Grantchester returns to PBS this Sunday for a Christmas special to be followed by six new episodes.
Also starting on Sunday, My Mother and Other Strangers, a five-part drama set in Northern Ireland during WWII.

PBS has announced air dates for series 3 of Grantchester and series 4 of Endeavour.
Grantchester will begin airing on Sunday, June 18th. The new series will consist of a Christmas special, followed by six episodes.

This Sunday, January 1st, Sherlock returns to PBS for the first of (possibly the last) three new episodes.

Series 9 of Lewis begins tomorrow (October 6th) on ITV. The series will consist of three separate two-part episodes.

Finally, or firstly, don’t forget the Call the Midwife holiday special airing on December 25th on PBS. Here’s a preview.
The first of two episodes of Death Comes to Pemberley (the adaptation of P.D. James’ homage to Pride and Prejudice) aired on Sunday, October 26th on PBS. The episode is available online here until November 10th – find out if Wickham is a killer or just a cad.
Also, although the year is rapidly winding down, there are still some shows to watch out for.
Fans of Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller’s Watson and Holmes (or those who will take any kind of Sherlock that they can get) will be happy to know that Elementary returns for its third season this Thursday, October 30th.
Series two of the well-shot and acted (if disturbing) The Fall, begins on the BBC in the second week of November (exact date and time to be confirmed).
Finally, is Sky Atlantic’s 12 part series Fortitude, set in the arctic and staring, among other greats, Sofie Grabol, Michael Gambon and Stanley Tucci. Need I say more? True, it probably won’t air until January 2015, but it’s promising enough to deserve the extra anticipation time! Here’s the trailer.
