Endeavour Series 2 Update

ITV has released new information about Endeavour Series 2.  The series will consist of four two-hour stories, the first of which will pick up four months after the events at the end of the first series.  Endeavour, back after the death of his father and having only just healed from his gunshot wound, is immediately thrown into a major case.

Apparently DI Thursday will be worried that Endeavour has lost his creative edge, and there may be a love interest on the horizon, although – alas, poor Morse — we know it won’t last!

ITV hasn’t set an air date yet, but series one ran in April.  Here’s hoping that the new series is only a month away.

On PBS the first series was broadcast in July.

I’ll send along updates/promos as they become available.

Coming Soon (ish) to PBS

These shows have already aired (or are currently running) in the UK, but US fans won’t have to wait for too long —

Series 3 of Call The Midwife will debut on March 30th.

The second series of The Bletchley Circle will begin on Sunday, April 13th.

Last Tango in Halifax, series 2, will air starting June 29th.

Visit PBS for more information about these and other shows coming in 2014.

The Bletchley Circle Returns

Series two of this code-breaking crime drama will return to ITV on January 6th.  The new series will consist of four episodes which will make up two, two-part stories.

The first story picks up a year after the events in series one.  Another former Bletchley Circle woman is on trial for murder and only her fellow decoders can save her from the noose.

In the second story one of the women gets inadvertently involved in shady dealings and is kidnapped.

Series two will air on PBS sometime during spring 2014.  I’ll send along exact dates once they are announced.

Last Tango In Halifax Series 2

Fans of this series starring Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid will be glad to know that series 2 is due to begin airing tomorrow (Tuesday, November 19th) at 9pm on BBC One.

The new series sees Alan recovered and he and Celia still determined to marry, but it still doesn’t look like it will be smooth sailing for the couple or for any of their family and friends.

The Fall Available Online Now

Just a reminder to North American viewers that as of today (May 28th) all five episodes of the first series of the BBC’s serial killer crime drama The Fall are available streaming online on Netflix.

The BBC’s deal with Netflix gives viewers the opportunity to watch the series while it’s still being broadcast in the UK.

Also good news for fans is that a second series has been commissioned.  It appears that the first series may end on a cliff hanger so that the second series will pick up with the same killer rather than with a fresh case.

Happy marathon viewing!
