ITV and the BBC have teamed up to create a new steaming service for American viewers. BritBox will apparently offer the largest video-on-demand library of British tv programs available anywhere in the US. Some shows (Eastenders, Holby City, Emmerdale) will be available within 24 hours of airing in the UK.
In terms of crime dramas, it’s not yet clear how many shows will be available that are not already on offer elsewhere. Press releases have mentioned The Moonstone (the recent adaptation of the Wilkie Collins novel), Silent Witness (of which only a few seasons are available for purchase on Amazon), and New Blood.
The service is due to go live in the next few months and the subscription price has yet to be revealed.

Well, the day has finally arrived. After years of drafts, edits, queries, and contests, my mystery novel, Too Far to Fall, is finally out in the world.
It is so strange to see my name and ebook on Amazon and Indigo and Barnes & Noble—just like it’s a real thing that I actually did.
Too Far to Fall was long listed for the CWA Debut Dagger and shortlisted for the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Unpublished First Crime Novel. I hope that readers who like traditional/amateur sleuth mysteries will enjoy what they find.
This blog has been very short on postings lately as I’ve been working on getting my crime novel—Too Far to Fall—ready for publication after it’s long and arduous journey through the wacky world of publishing. I’ll post my cover and a blurb once it’s out in the world.
In the meantime, in the next few weeks both ITV and the BBC should release their Christmas promos. A Grantchester Christmas Special has already been announced and who knows what else might be in store!
