Yippee! I’m sorry — I know this is probably a bit too much enthusiasm for the mere return of a television show — but I can’t help it. I loved Foyle’s War. Michael Kitchen in the role of war era DCS Foyle was truly fantastic, as were the rest of the cast, the production values, the stories, etc. It’s been three years and I’d given up hope that there would be any more episodes but now… ITV, Acorn Media and PBS are bringing Foyle’s War back for three new two-hour episodes to air in summer 2013 as part of Masterpiece Mystery. The show will pick up in the early post-WWII days and Foyle will now be a Senior Intelligence Officer involved with MI5. Honeysuckle Weeks will also return as loyal sidekick Sam who is now a politician’s wife.
This news was released on September 12th so I’m way behind the curve here, but now that I know you can be sure that I’ll pass along all the exciting details, promos etc., that I come across.
Anyone else excited, albeit to a more reasonable degree?
